The Local Deli is a small, local business with locations in Hayden and Rathdrum, ID. We are professional, agile, customer-centric and our goal is to serve heathy, hand-crafted sandwiches, salads and sweets to our community while offering a healthy and balanced environment for our staff.

We are hiring for:

-9am to 2pm shift, a mid-morning shift and closing shifts.

Requirements: must be able to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Job description includes cashier responsibilities, sandwich and salad making, customer service, kitchen prep work and various restaurant duties. We are willing to train and experience is appreciated. This position is paid by an hourly rate plus tips.

The Deli is closed Sundays. This position is available Monday-Saturday. Day and evening positions are available.

Currently hiring for those 19 and over. If you are under 19, please drop off a resume or fill out an application at the deli and we will keep it for our spring hiring.

Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with their needs
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the work area
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to company standards
- Upsell products and promote special offers to increase sales
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies
- Follow all safety and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Skills:
- Strong sales skills and the ability to upsell products
- Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and culinary techniques
- Proficient in operating a cash register and handling cash transactions
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic math skills for calculating totals, making change, and reconciling cash drawers

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
