Crematory Operator/Funeral Attendant

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Crematory Operator. As a Crematory Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the cremation equipment, ensuring that all cremations are performed with the utmost care and respect. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Duties:
- Operate and maintain cremation equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines
- Prepare deceased individuals for cremation, including proper identification and documentation
- Load and unload deceased individuals into the cremation chamber
- Monitor and adjust the temperature and timing of the cremation process
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for each cremation
- Clean and maintain the crematory equipment and facilities
- Assist with other funeral home duties as needed including but not limited to funeral services, on-call responsibilities, etc.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating industrial equipment is preferred
- Knowledge of funeral directing practices and procedures is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with the cremation equipment
- Ability to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature and ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy

Note: This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
