Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Support the Credit Union by performing operational duties and backing up other colleagues. Primary responsibilities include Health Savings Account (HSA) processing and support, processing wires, processing member remote deposit capture items, assisting with individual retirement accounts (IRA) and bank secrecy act (BSA) reporting, member notices, returned checks, deposit support, reporting, account analysis/research, and other various duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
HSA Specialist:
Process HSA forms and deposit items
Assist staff and members with HSA questions
Process and make corrections related to tax reporting
Process remote deposit items submitted through the Credit Union mobile app
Receive incoming and originate outgoing wire transfers
Process mail and return mail
Complete forms and enter information into a database, perform maintenance and service requests
Complete reports and records
Prepare and send correspondence related to member accounts (certificates, negative balances, escheat regulations, dormant accounts, etc.)
Plastic card reporting and processing
Provide backup for IRA and BSA processing and IRA tax reporting
Process returned checks
Complete all required training for the position and participate in electives to enhance skills
Participate in meetings and other events as required
Ensure all Credit Union member and employee-related business is kept in the strictest confidence
Assist branch and back-office staff through member account research, analysis, and correction
Complete special projects as assigned
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Experience:
Three to five years retail service and/or financial services experience preferred
An understanding of Credit Union Operations
Skills and Abilities:
Accuracy and attention to detail with mathematical aptitude and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to provide exceptional service
Professionalism, honesty, integrity, and good listening skills to build rapport and relationships
Ability to exercise good judgment, solve problems, offer sound advice, and cross-sell products and services
Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment
Experience with customer databases a plus
Adaptability to changing workflows to remain productive in fast-paced times
