General Position Summary:

The Credit Risk Intern will be responsible for supporting the Credit/Risk department in the management and enhancement of overall portfolio performance. As a valued team member, the Credit Risk intern will gain direct exposure to all aspects of the credit life cycle including marketing, underwriting, account management, and collections. This is a non-exempt, temporary position. The hours of this position will be between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday with the ability to work around school schedules as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive volume by assisting with credit product marketing campaigns
  • Extract data to create reporting packages that help leaders make informed decisions
  • Collaborate with Credit/Risk team to conduct complex statistical analyses that enhance credit programs
  • Assist with various account management functions
  • Other duties as needed and assigned by the Credit Risk Manager

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a relevant degree program such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial, Business Intelligence, Finance, or other closely related program preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during business hours
  • Experience with a programming language and/or statistical software such as SAS, R or SQL required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Physical Requirements

The work is of an intellectual nature. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is required to stand and sit for prolonged periods. Specific vision abilities required include close and medium distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal sounds, distinguish sound as voice and communicate through human speech. This position requires the ability to operate a keyboard, computer mouse, telephone, fax, copier, writing tools, and other standard office equipment. On an occasion, an employee will be asked to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs.
