Role: The Credit Resolution Specialist Assistant promotes member financial well-being through assisting the Credit Resolution Team with efforts to collect on delinquent loans/accounts. This position prepares and sends outgoing member communication, prepares reports for the team, files claim with third-party vendors, and processes invoices, The Credit Resolution Assistant is a self-starter that works well in a fast-paced environment.

 

Pay: The pay for this position is $17.94 an hour.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares outgoing member letters and documentation regarding delinquency, charge offs, bankruptcy, and repossession within the appropriate time frame and maintain records and/or imaging of all collections notices as appropriate. Processes incoming mail on-site.
  • Process deposits applied to previously charged off draft and/or share accounts. Completes system file maintenance as required.
  • Completes system file maintenance as required upon receipt of bankruptcy notices. Prepares appropriate court documents on bankruptcies, as needed.
  • Assigns incoming collector text messages to ensure appropriate member contact is made.
  • Processes incoming payments/invoices.
  • Prepares regular reports to assist with skip tracing efforts, charged off share information, and third-party referral files.
  • Assist with filing repossession claims, posting loan recoveries, sale proceeds, and damage claim payments.
  • Assigns loans for repossession to third party vendor, as directed by the Lead or Management.
  • Obtain updates from impound companies on impound notices received. If collateral is not recovered by member or insurance, proceed with assignment to the appropriate collection queue.
  • Processes cancellation of service warranty/GAP contracts.
  • Performs third party reconciliations.
  • Serve in a back-up capacity as Collection Software System Administrator.
  • Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and promotions.
  • Assist with supply ordering and inventory. Contributes to efficient Credit Union operations by performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: At least 1year of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes and/or seasonal brightness through windows. This position may involve periodic stressful conditions. The Credit Union's business days are Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; however, this position may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and to include evening/weekend hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
