Credit Card Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Credit Card Specialist is responsible for reconciling and researching consumer Credit Card payments. All related costs should be recorded properly to the financial statements while assuring strong controls and SOX guidelines are followed.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial
-Understand the Oracle General Ledger system, along with various subsystems in order to adequately perform research
-Review and process transactions (invoices, Credit Card adjustments, etc.)
-Review exception reports and prepare corrections
-Reconcile payments and explain any unresolved variances; determine the proper action for resolution.
-Maintain a positive relationship with third parties (vendors, Credit Card companies, etc.) to investigate and resolve payment issues and provide documentation needed for resolution (check copies, Credit Card receipts, etc.)
-Complete trend reporting and report to management to mitigate internal and external fraud
-Answer restaurant manager phone lines on a rotational basis. Provide prompt resolution of restaurant management requests and communicate proper procedures to managers
-Create, key, and upload journal entries as required
-Prepare invoices/journal entries for archiving within the Darden imaging system
Process Excellence
-Assist restaurant managers with implementing efficient processes
-Identify opportunities for improving efficiencies, strengthening controls
-Identify and communicate significant trends and potential issues to Supervisor
-Participate in team meetings by exchanging ideas with team members on best practices
-Support the Supervisor and Manager on special projects
Employee
-Back up other team members as needed
-Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a high volume workload
-Comply with Payment Card Industry guidelines for Credit Card areas responsibilities

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
-2 to 3 years accounting experience (or accounting education)
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
-Knowledge of Oracle, Discoverer and Hyperion financial systems is preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
-Associate or Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelor's Degree (Accounting, Finance or related field)
-Experience with restaurant operations a plus
