Job description

Conducts credit investigations, analyzes financial information, and maintains customer credit limits while approving or rejecting customer orders, within limits of authority. Oversees the set-up or modification of customer accounts. Also is responsible for the collection of receivables and past dues on account assignments. Works with the Credit Manager in the resolution of the more difficult credit issues, exercising considerable judgment in interacting with internal and external contacts.
- Collects past due payments from all accounts and assure fair, courteous and prompt handling of collection matters in order to provide for the prompt turnover of accounts receivable.
- Confers with the Credit Manager, sales managers, and other management personnel concerning the status of customer accounts, keeping the sales organization advised of action to be initiated on delinquent accounts.
- Approves and/or disapproves the extension of credit for all customers within the designated geographic region, in order to maintain a minimum investment in accounts receivable; and at the same time, wherever practical improve distribution of Canon products consistent with applicable state and federal laws.
- Researches applications of credit adjustments to assure that customer adjustments or deductions made or taken are reasonable, processed and cleared from customer's account on a timely basis.
- Keeps abreast of the status of accounts receivable to control credit extensions and to advise management of unsafe credit conditions; to provide management with consolidated reports regarding the status of credit operations.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience.
- Experience researching and examining credit risks, assessing credit history, and approving or disapproving extension of credit.
- High level of proficiency in excel and strong analytical skills.
