The School of Education & Human Development will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for future appointments to temporary, part time, non-tenure-track positions in the Applied Behavior Analysis Program. Lecturers are limited to two courses per term. 

We are currently recruiting for the following course: 

SPED 5470 - ABA Data 

This is an online course, in the summer of 2024 and possibly in future semesters. 

This graduate-level course will introduce how to collect and interpret different types of data, and the importance of making data-driven decisions for behavior change procedures based on functional relationship.

The School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) is a leading school of education, providing national expertise on educational issues and socially-just solutions for urban and diverse communities. The SEHD has taken a leadership role in preparing professionals to work in diverse schools, agencies and related settings. The SEHD emphasizes working with multiple types of collaborative partnerships including PK-12 schools, local communities, businesses, government agencies, private foundations, and other universities and colleges. The SEHD was ranked 85thnationally in 2021-22 byUS News and World Report. 

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

         Earned master's degree or higher in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field 

         Certified BCBA (via the Behavior Analyst Certification Board) 

If a degree is in an unrelated field, the candidate must demonstrate at least 18 graduate level credit hours in related discipline and/or 5 years' experience in the field related to the course documented on the CV. Candidates need to supply some evidence (e.g., subject matter expertise or leadership expertise) of experience. 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

 

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

    Teaching experience (at the undergraduate or graduate levels) 

Experience working with culturally minoritized children's families in schools or clinical settings 

Doctorate in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis or related field 

Commitment to social justice and conceptualizing the ABA practitioner as an advocate 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

         Ethical and professional conduct considerations required for practicing ABA. 

         Evidence of understanding of mental health professions that serve clients with special needs. 

         Evidence of knowledge of collecting and interpreting data as well as the importance of making data-driven decisions specifically for ABA. 

 

Conditions of Employment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position has been established at $4,900, for a fully-enrolled 3-credit course. This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal. If your appointment in this position continues, you will be notified in writing each term. 

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. 

This part-time appointment is not eligible for group health, life insurance, and retirement benefits. As of January 1, 2021, Lecturer positions will accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours per hour worked with a maximum accrual of 48 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). 

This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
