SalarySUMMARY: Provides advocacy, supervision, training, and direct supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities based on each individual's plan. For self-directed/co-managed services, receives training and instruction from the individual or the designated adult who is co-managing the service. Promotes positive behaviors and interactions with all individuals receiving services.
Requirements:
- Maintains minimum working requirements of 16 hours weekly.
- Submits availability via scheduling program at a minimum of 1 week in advance prior to the specified deadline.
- Submits notices of leave (when leave would affect ability to meet working requirements) to supervisor for review and approval.
- Note: this position does not accrue PTO, therefore any planned time off will not be paid.
- Extended leave is subject to approval/denial dependent on general working habits and ability to maintain working requirements on a regular basis.
- Working locations to be assigned at the discretion of supervisor (Deployment Specialist) based on employee availability and needs of the agency.
- Location assignments are subject to change based on needs/hours available. Employees may be required to work in a different zone depending on availability and needs within the agency.
- If minimums working hours are not met, the employee is subject to termination from the position.
- Maintains medication certification and related certifications. This includes:
- Successfully completion of the full medication administration course and required error-less observations by the RN (minimum of 3).
- Tube feeding, Diabetic/insulin training, and/or colostomy care Training are required: Must successfully complete the required training and observations to become certified and maintain certification.
- Required to maintain certification by administering medications/insulin/tube feeds (if needed) at least once per month as well as annual re-certification to be completed by an RN.
- Working locations limited to sites in need of medication-related certifications.
- Maintains SCIP-R II certification. This includes:
- Successfully completion of the full SCIP-R course.
- Annual training re-certification.
- Maintains Transportation/driving certification. This includes:
- Successful completion of transportation Safety training class and completion and passing of road test.
- Maintaining LAI's motor vehicle requirements and following applicable related policies and procedures.
- Miscellaneous:
- Utilizes LAI's scheduling software program to communicate availability and receive notice of assignment.
- Participate in regular check-ins with supervisor including in-person and/or remote options when provided.
- Maintain training per OPWDD and LAI requirements.
- Follow LAI's guidelines for unexcused time off.
- Complete orientation packets and review of necessary information for each working location.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the abilities and knowledge for successful performance will be considered. In order to transport individual's employees are required to meet LAI's Vehicle Operator Requirements (with the exception of overnight and Relief positions).
