Form of work- Midtown is looking for a Court Monitor to engage members and elevate the experience for our pickleball community.
The Position
We opened our doors 50 years ago as Chicago's first indoor tennis club. And we've been leaders in tennis ever since. Our goal has always been to improve the game of tennis and we've moved the needle forward in so many ways. Pickleball and Platform tennis are key communities within our racquet sports communities and are ever growing as a result of expanding our offerings. Our founders have been a part of making these sports accessible to as many people as possible through multiple ways, from creating Tennis in No Time, designed to teach adult beginners to play tennis and developing the Junior Development Program that became the USTA model of 10 and under tennis, we want the world to have the same love of racquet sports that we do. Our Racquet Sports teams are some of the best in the game and we want them to bring their enthusiasm and skill to the courts.
Court Monitor responsibilities:- Be and ambassador for our pickleball community and support existing programs
- Increase visibility of support staff in our pickleball spaces
- Engage more members in more programs and and assure cross promoting of all racquet sports events
- Maintain pickleball areas to promote an exceptional facility experience, including court and adjacent spaces and timely placement of nets
- Ensure all players are properly registered for each reservation and program and are on the appropriate courts during transition times and that any guests are properly registered
- Communicate any specific needs or feedback from the players to pickleball supervisor
- Be present for all pickleball court availability as a concierge for the experience
Court Monitor requirements:- Engaging and confident presence and personality
- Competent in Microsoft programs
- Some moving of equipment required
- Effective troubleshooting abilities
- Professional and efficient communication style
- Pickleball or sports background preferred but not necessary
- Should be routinely available Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and some weekend evenings
