Countertop Fabrication Production Manager

We are currently looking to hire a Production Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process of creating countertops made from materials like granite, marble, quartz, or laminate, from raw material selection to final product delivery. This manager ensures the efficient utilization of resources, adherence to quality standards, and timely completion of projects.

Our client has been servicing builders for over 35 years and is looking to bring on someone who is a trustworthy professional who can join their team to manage the output of the hourly staff who work as part of the production process. This would also include making sure all the machines are operating properly and everything is running according to schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

Production Planning -

• Develop production schedules and plans based on customer orders and project requirements.
• Coordinate with sales and design teams to understand project specifications and deadlines.

Resource Management -

• Manage a team of fabricators, machine operators, and other production personnel.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet production goals.
• Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

Quality Control -

• Implement and enforce quality control standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Implement corrective actions as needed.

Inventory Management -

• Oversee the procurement and inventory of raw materials, tools, and supplies.
• Ensure efficient material usage to minimize waste.

Safety Compliance -

• Promote a culture of safety within the production facility.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure all employees follow safety guidelines.
• Investigate and report any accidents or safety incidents.

Training and Development -

• Provide training and guidance to production staff.
• Identify skill gaps and arrange for relevant training programs.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.

Cost Control -

• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses.
• Optimize production processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Customer Communication -

• Collaborate with the sales team to communicate project progress and address customer concerns or inquiries.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality products on time.

Documentation -

• Maintain accurate production records, including job orders, material usage, and quality control reports.
• Generate reports for management on production performance and KPIs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ideally 2-5 years of previous experience in Countertop Fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of countertop materials, fabrication processes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency with CNC machines, since those are used in the manufacturing of the countertops
• Ability to frequently lift equipment over 50 pounds
• Must be able to handle the pressure of working to schedules, unusual hours of work, longer than normal days and deadlines

Skills:

• Excellent leadership and team management skills with prior experience of leading teams of at least 5 direct reports.
• Proficiency in production planning and inventory management.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Compensation is between $45k-$55k/yr, depending on experience, plus bonus opportunities. Full benefits included.
