Job Summary

We are looking for talented , high potential individuals with a desire to grow and continuously improve. The Counter Sales associate is primarily responsible to assist with QED’s customers in person at our counter location, as well as on the phone. Service is motivating factor and we strive to provide the highest level of customer service possible.
Our Counter Salesmen are responsible for order entry, phone orders, pulling orders for walk in customers, as well as maintaining counter appearance. QED offers ongoing training opportunities. We are always seeking to promote from within, successful employees at QED will have opportunities to advance to inside sales, outside sales and even management.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers by phone or in person to receive orders for products.
- Solicits sale of new or additional products.
- Determines make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points.
- Identifies and uses appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
- Describes or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Provides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard merchandise.
- Prepares cash or charge sales tickets with required identification, necessary information for customer, merchandise, price, and sales tax status for processing, shipment and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner. Follows up with any specific record-keeping requirements.
- Picking orders from inventory
- Reporting inventory shortages and recommending new orders
- Project a positive company image when delivering directly to our customers.
- Ability to assist warehouse personnel with the following, but not limited to: warehouse housekeeping duties, withdrawal of merchandise to fill orders, packaging and labeling of orders, storing and shelving of merchandise, relocation and/or rearrangement of stock as required.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Minimum work experience requirements:
- Knowledge of branch product lines.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing personnel and work activities.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Some knowledge of basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from small groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to perform math functions representative of the job such as; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and metric scales; computing rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs; calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
- Possess in depth knowledge of QED computer systems, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Must be a team player and abide by QED’s strong core values and beliefs.
Starting Wage: $18.00/Hour + Commission
