You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to analyze project requirements, prepare detailed cost estimates, and monitor project costs to ensure adherence to budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project plans and specifications
- Analyze project requirements and develop cost estimates based on historical data and current market conditions
- Review and analyze vendor proposals and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures
- Monitor project costs and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts to support project management decisions
- Provide guidance to project teams on cost management best practices and strategies
- Continuously review and update cost-estimating methods and tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
- 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating for construction projects, preferably in the disaster response or government contracting industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools, including RS Means CostWorks
- Knowledge of federal government procurement regulations and policies
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
