Cost Accountant

We are looking for a diligent accounting professional to join our accounting department. This position will be responsible for production and retail inventory accounting functions.

Qualifications needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
• 3 years experience as an Inventory or Cost Accountant
• Understanding of GAAP in relation to inventory
• Retail accounting experience required
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and ERP system experience (QuickBooks preferred)
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Willingness to work, learn, and appreciate the complexities of the cannabis industry

Responsibilities include:

• Analyze weekly ingredient usage variances on manufacturing orders and post
  required adjustments
• Developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variance
• Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
• Verifying accurate standard costs
• Monitoring inventory transactions
• Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger
• Preparing monthly journal entries as needed
• Review and resolve issues with inventory transfer orders between locations
• Review production order reports and record corrections, as necessary
• Provide inventory support and guidance to production facility as needed
• Process daily cash receipts and post payments to customer accounts
• Match purchase orders for raw materials receipts and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure procedures are documented and updated regularly
• Assist in collection and preparation of documentation requested for the
  monthly/yearly outside audit

Experience:
