Job Description
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fixed Asset Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our fixed asset system, ensuring accuracy in reporting, depreciation, and compliance with relevant accounting standards. This role is crucial in supporting our financial decision-making process and requires a high level of precision and expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded, categorized, and depreciated in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Oversee and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) accounts.
- Review and verify fixed asset costing originating from production.
- Conduct asset audits, reconcile fixed asset accounts, and prepare reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Coordinate with various departments to track and compile information regarding capital spend and asset disposal.
- Implement and maintain internal controls related to fixed asset processes to ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial and tax audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to fixed assets.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology to streamline fixed asset accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Iintermediate proficiency level in Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
