Job Description
Purpose
Provide analytical support to the Cost Account Manager (CAM)/ Craft Superintendent. Walk job sites, climb stairs and ladders, enter confined spaces, read drawings, and report progress to assist the CAM and Production Control in updating work performed and percent complete in WOMBAT.
Functions
- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Status all open work orders with Planning and submit them to the Superintendent (CAM) for final approval.
- Monitor ECN (Engineering Change Notice) and ECR (Engineering Change Request) status, to ensure the craft has the correct drawing revision.
- Assist CAM with reviewing actuals and updating monthly forecasting reports.
- Review Production Data Sheets for accuracy.
- Gather information to explain any Control Account Variance (CAV) Reports.
- Track CAV corrective actions.
- Work with Supervisors and Foremen to ensure they have the correct information, drawings, work orders, and job numbers.
- Forecast work ahead of production and ensure materials and production information is available ahead of scheduled milestones.
- Track material/ equipment requisitions to ensure what is ordered is received.
- Forecast any subcontract company's scope that is required to maintain the schedule and advise the Project Manager of upcoming subcontract work, for example, but not limited to, insulation installation, HVAC duct, and vendor assistance for equipment commissioning.
- Attend project meetings with the CAM.
- Attend Monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) meetings to set forecast dates for starting and completing work orders.
- Monitor Employee charge codes to ensure time is being charged correctly.
- Work with Supervisors and Quality Assurance (QA) to produce and turn in Craft signoffs as jobs are completed.
- Maintain a file of QA/ Craft signoffs per Control Account.
- Build spreadsheets and documents as required to assist CAM.
- Must complete internal Cost Account Manager training and gain an understanding of the EV (Earned Value) system.
- Perform other duties as instructed.

Job Requirements
Education: Graduation from high school or GED.
Required:
- Two or more years of providing analytical support at a high level.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Suite experience including Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as ECNs, ECRs, CAVs.
- Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.
- Requires excellent written, oral, and presentation/ communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group.
Desired:
- Experience with AutoCAD
Working Conditions: 50% Shipboard and 50% Office
