Corrosion Data Analyst

Overview

The Corrosion Data Analyst will be responsible for mining and analyzing multiple Army maintenance related data sets and leveraging Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to trend and track failure modes and drivers of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions related to corrosion and then develop and present to the USG new or improved maintenance tasks or schedule, address human factors, processes, training, technical manuals, design changes etc. to drive down corrosion maintenance actions and increase overall fleet readiness in relation to corrosion drivers.  Position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Perform data mining on all Army aviation model platforms and components in support of the Maintenance Consolidated Database System, AESIP and G-ARMY database systems.
• Design and implement data analysis supporting Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) in order to identify opportunities for improvement with components, processes and policies.
• Articulate best practices using Reliability Centered Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) data inputs to drive down or eliminate maintenance tasks and increase readiness availability within Combat Aviation Brigades.
• Plan, develop, and conduct analysis programs or studies to develop and establish the feasibility of systems/subsystems/components meeting requirements and/or adequacy of design.
• Report status of projects accurately and timely including key issues, delays in timelines, and timely escalation to key stakeholders and sponsors.
• Aid in maintenance / assessment of governance policies and processes to manage requirements, tools and infrastructure.
• Participate/Provide input to in Progress Reviews (IPR) for Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) projects.
• Participate in and organize Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to create and manage requirements as a part of the Governance Process.
• Perform Analysis of Alternatives for Technical Solutions as a part of the Governance Process and in limited cases work with vendors to develop implementation schedules for production of required solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation.  Must be able to maintain required clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
• Thorough understanding of ARMY Aviation Maintenance Practices and Processes
• Familiarity with aircraft technical publications (IETM, ASAM/SOF, TB, DMWR)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Highly desired experience working as or with aviation maintenance personnel and processes.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems design, development and analysis. Knowledge and experience working with databases to extract data for analysis.
• Working knowledge of Army Database software applications such as ACN, RIMFIRE, FMAS, ASAP, MCDS, JDRS, PDREP, TAMMS-A, AESIP and G-ARMY.
• Performed duties as a Maintenance Test Pilot, Technical Inspector, Maintenance phase team leader.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to effectively communicate through both oral and written communication between multiple stakeholders both government and contractor.
• Proven record in training technical procedures and methods.
