The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Corrections Sentencing Associateposition at the Entry or Senior level. This position is based out of Wisconsin Secure Program Facility located in Boscobel, WI (Grant County). This position includes the option of a hybrid work schedule (i.e., a combination of on-site and telework) depending probationary status, work performance, and operational needs of the institution.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for technical services to persons in our care (PIOCs), also known as inmates, to include effectively processing detainers, sentence computations, and releases. This position is in an ongoing learning mode for sentence computations and all related Records Office functions. The Corrections Sentencing Associate is responsible for office support duties, file maintenance and may assist with processing Public Record Requests.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 02-12 (entry) with a starting pay of $22.95/hour and 02-14 (senior) with starting pay at $26.83. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have training and or experience in the following:
  • Performing mathematical calculations for specific work-related programs (e.g., budget preparation, accounting, offender sentence computations, etc.).
  • Maintaining records within an office setting.
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have training or experience in the following:
  • Working with legal documents such as judgments of conviction, revocation orders, warrants, etc.
  • Corresponding with external stakeholders (such as law enforcement agencies, legal aid societies, attorneys, etc.
  • Interpreting and applying policies, procedures, rules, regulations.
