Responsibilities:
- Maintain security and control within a correctional facility
- Monitor inmate activities in person
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the facility
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to maintain order and discipline
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, including medical emergencies, fights, and disturbances
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband
- Write reports detailing incidents, inmate behavior, and any rule violations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle conflict and deescalate tense situations
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to be on feet for long periods of time
- Eligible for Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Certification as a jailer
- At least 10 years since conviction of a Class B Misdemeanor, and no convictions of offenses above a Class B Misdemeanor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections beneficial but not required
- Bilingual

Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,929.00 per year
