The Job Opportunity and Duties...
- Requires considerable knowledge of customer sales & service & Ohio Penal Industries goods
- Works under the direction of the Correctional Industry Manager &/or the direction of the Ohio Correctional Industries (OPI) Sales Manager
- Performs the office & field work necessary to promote sales of OPI workshops & provide consultation to public agencies & other customers for all products manufactured & services offered by OPI (e.g., telephone calls to present & prospective clients, appointments, showroom tours, sales promotions at conferences, conventions, telemarketing)
- Acts as Sales Representative for all products & services of correctional enterprises
- Calls on purchasing agents, city & county administrators & other public officials to provide or present detailed drawings & specifications & to discuss merits of Correctional Industries' products, types of available products, cost projections & price quotes & prepare sales orders
- Assists customers with purchasing open-office modular systems such as office layout, color coordination, & product design using computer aided design software
- Coordinates product delivery
- Prepare and process sale orders & telephone orders to include data entry into computer or typing of shop orders using material resource planning software
- Provides customer service to resolve complaints & recommend appropriate action
- Advises penal industries management of competitive prices, market trend, sales potentials, customers' reactions to penal industries & commercial products & possible new products for addition to the line
- May appear before city councils, schools, or other public agencies or bodies in conjunction with presentations to or negotiation with public agencies & other customers
- Keeps informed of new developments in product & material categories utilized & manufactured by the industries
- Participates in exhibits, conferences, conventions, & periodic sales staff meeting
- Prepares sales & promotion reports & correspondence
- Attends meetings, trainings & conferences
- May give presentations & conduct training
- Responds both verbally & in writing to questions & concerns
- Works on special projects &/or committees as assigned

Qualifications
12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in direct customer sales & service or sales promotion & marketing to include exp. in computer aided drawing software (e.g. AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Matlab) & material resource planning software (e.g. E2 Shop System, Fishbowl Manufacturing, SAP); valid driver's license.
