About the position

The Safe & Secure Team helps to keep our 10,000+ associates, who work at our 200+ various locations, safe and secure every day. By collaborating with various Carvana teams, the Manager, Corporate Security will be involved with the development of security processes, data driven problem solving and the full life cycle of threat management. In partnership with the Safe & Secure team and internal partners, the Manager, Corporate Security will play an integral part of how we ensure the safety and security of all associates every day at every site.

The Manager, Corporate Security will be responsible for the development and implementation of a Corporate Security program that aligns with our Carvana values of ensuring "We are All in this Together" and "Don't be a Richard". The program will need to focus on the safety of our associates ensuring that there is a proactive approach via risk intelligence, strong incident management, learning and engagement, and where necessary investigative functions.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the development, implementation and the maintenance of a corporate threat platform that encompasses threat assessment, threat investigation and threat management.
  • Lead the collection, analysis and the creation of threat intelligence reports that incorporate current and emerging threats as well as vulnerabilities.
  • Manage threat data and effectively communicate findings to appropriate partners.
  • Own the proactive threat and vulnerability analysis across all Carvana businesses.
  • Manage highly sensitive and urgent threat of violence concerns, bringing subject matter expertise to effectively assess and mitigate the risk.
  • Manage the overall inquiry process and leverage appropriate resources to obtain resolution per guidelines.
  • Owner of Integrity Line reports assigned to Safe & Secure and primary partner for Legal, People Operations and Internal Audit to ensure proper resolution.
  • Owner of security program development and implementation for Campus locations.
  • Leads all security efforts related to special events.
  • Leads the development and implementation of proactive risk analytics to protect Carvana's associates, assets and brand.
  • Owns the partnerships amongst various Carvana Teams and stakeholders to develop an incident response program that meets the needs of our various businesses
  • Manage and leverage expertise, data, and other tools to establish Incident Response Policy and Standards to effectively handle a variety of situations that can impact our associates and our businesses.
  • Owns processes and partnerships to help our businesses keep running or get back up and running after incidents occur so that we can take care of our Customers.
  • Manage and develop materials to enhance awareness and knowledge throughout Carvana.
  • Own relationships with law enforcement and industry experts.
  • Keeping every detail of your area operating like a "well-oiled machine", but also taking the time to think through strategy and process with a broad perspective and make the necessary improvements to fuel future growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you should have

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, finance, criminal justice, emergency management, or social administration)
  • At least 8 to 12 years of Security/Asset Protection/Incident Response/Threat Management leadership experience
  • Prior experience building, implementing, or managing an Incident Response and Threat Programs for a large scale company with a multitude of sites/locations
  • Proven track record of implementing change across multiple businesses/units
  • Proven track record of leading teams
  • Advanced influencing skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and the ability to work with ambiguity
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills with a willingness to think outside the box
  • Self-starter's mentality with a strong sense of urgency
  • Analytical skills/mindset

It would be great if you also had

  • Master's degree (preferably in business, finance, criminal justice, Emergency Management, or social administration).
  • Project Management experience that has impacted multiple business units/locations
  • Crisis Management Experience
  • Threat Management Experience
  • Crisis Management Certification/Business Continuity Professional Certification
  • Security Operations Center Experience
