US Farathane is seeking a Corporate Quality Systems Internal Auditor working out of our Tech Center in Auburn Hills.
Summary:
The Internal Quality Auditor leverages their subject matter expertise in USF Quality Management System to train and educate all USF Teammates on the content and importance of our Quality Management System; driving improvement and compliance to procedures, processes thru auditing and follow up to close nonconformances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Internal Quality Auditor leverages their subject matter expertise in USF Quality Management System to train and educate all USF Teammates on the content and importance of our Quality Management System; driving improvement and compliance to procedures, processes thru auditing and follow up to close nonconformances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain subject matter expertise in applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949), as well as customer specific requirements and USF Organization's own requirements as defined in USF's Quality Management System associated documents.
- Evaluate administrative and operational/production processes for compliance with QMS requirements and applicable standards, including customer-specific requirements.
- Participate in quality audits, and when certified Lead Auditor, lead the Audit Team when assigned.
- Assist in development of audit schedules and audit plans.
- Identify processes, situations, etc., where organization is meeting or not meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for quality system improvement.
- Assist Audit Team in developing audit reports.
- Present the Audit Team report/conclusions to the audited party and review/evaluate auditee resolution of any nonconformances.
- Assist with follow-up audits, as required.
- Prepare for and support in external Quality Systems audits at USF corporate offices and plants.
- May be required to support corporate operational quality personnel (e.g., AQE, Quality Manager, etc.).
- Work independently and project a professional image appropriate to the work environment.
Qualifications:
- 5 plus years of experience in quality role in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Automotive OEM Customer-Specific Requirements.
- Experience successfully interacting with internal customers, external customers, and external third-party auditors.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills.
- Advanced product quality planning (APQP) experience.
- Automotive quality core tools including root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Excellent educational and presentation skills.
- Must be fluent in English language.
- Must be a confident professional Leader, with ability to influence cross functional organization.
- Must be flexible enough to switch from a variety of projects to others without losing time, momentum or enthusiasm and not getting frustrated.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel and conduct manufacturing floor audits at USF manufacturing plants.
- Ability to communicate well orally with a wide variety of auditees (plant management, production workers, plant support personnel, coworkers, etc.) is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or reviewing documents.
- The ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about manufacturing plants (to conduct audits throughout the facilities, access files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attend meetings, etc.) is required.
- Using a computer, reviewing reports/logs, etc., while sitting for extended periods is common.
