CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER for HOUSTON BASED MULTI-UNIT HOSPITALITY GROUP
A multi-unit hospitality (Hotel) group has a great opportunity for a CFO with experience in the Hotel/Lodging.
Competencies
- Direct or coordinate the organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and work with operational units to increase overall efficiency.
- Hire and lead employees and vendors performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, audit, tax, and budgeting duties.
- Analyze operations to evaluate the performance of a company or its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
- Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization.
- Oversee / Manage the preparation of all financial statements, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Compare and report sales, revenue, and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make/oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Work with the COO and Owner to coordinate annual planning and establish priorities for the company for the coming year.
- Study long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
- Identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
- Lead Capital Markets approach for the company, identifying resources and potential funding partners for future lending capabilities.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (required)
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration - MBA (preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive Finance or Accounting experience in Financial Services, Consumer Lending, Banking, or B2C Service industries
- Demonstrated leadership experience through the full cycle of startup, growth, development, and disposition/exit – M&A experience preferred
- Experience with warehouse lenders and credit facilities, bringing established banking and industry connections to help drive future lending activities
- Proficient executive leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence with the ability to motivate and mentor staff
- Experience with financial systems, fintech, KPI reporting, and business intelligence
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Expert level of written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professional discretion, trustworthiness, confidentiality, and executive representation
