Job Description:
We are looking to hire a Corporate Engineer to assist with the management of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS), renewable natural gas facilities, coordinate and review the updating of certain financial models, facilitate the collection of data for sustainability reporting, and environmental and engineering programs for the client's landfills and numerous other waste management districts across the United States and Canada. Responsibilities :
- Support GCCS operations and review capital budget planning and execution across client's footprint
- Provide guidance, recommendations, and direction regarding GCCS design, construction, and operational issues
- Interface with various Region and local employees, as well as landfill gas energy developers, to optimize production, operations, and revenues.
- Lead various engineering construction and permitting projects.
- Review and understand permits governing the landfill and provide guidance to Region Engineers and Landfill Managers to ensure site compliance.
- Work with Region staff to review and update certain financial models related to landfill construction and closure.
- Work with outside consultants and District Staff to accurately collect and summarize data for sustainability reporting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or related field.
- 3-5 or more years of practical environmental or engineering experience in the solid waste industry
- Landfill gas system design and operation experience preferred
- Able to travel 25-50%
- Desire to be a leader in the company's engineering and environmental program and to learn and grow all business sectors across the company.
- Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision.
- Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, federal, state and local regulations, engineering design and operating plans, maintenance and procedural manuals.
- Excellent technical report writing skills.
- Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to predict and manage future compliance needs and adapt to changing regulatory environments.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with operations team, outside consultants, vendors, and customers.
