Chief Objective of the Position:
This senior corporate management position serves as the departmental leader for the entire Career Services Division for Legacy Education. The position to establish “One Standard of Excellence” for the Department including strategic leadership for developing, implementing, training and evaluating all Career Services employees for the company including extern sites, recruiting systems, programs, and all events to connect employers with students, faculty, and alumni.
Job Summary:
The Corporate Director for Career Services (CDOCS) will manage, lead, supervise, document and train all employees within the Career Services to ensure that all key operating metrics for completion and placements are met according accreditation and Title IV compliance requirements. In addition, the CDOCS will manage and develop both new and existing extern sites, career development, career counseling, job placement, work-study career development, personal and professional development. The CDOCS will demonstrate a history of cultivating key partnerships with the community, colleges, leadership development programs on campus, develop high impact practices, advancement, and alumni affairs. Oversight will include development of existing Directors and Associate Directors in Career Service with a focus on utilizing technology, building systems that creative efficient and compliant tracking mechanisms that verify placements to meet both accreditation and internal audit standards set by Legacy Education. The CDOCs is ultimately, responsible for creating “one standard of excellence” within the entire Career Services Development that ensures that graduates are placed in the field for which they were trained on at LEI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train and develop all Career Services employees on key operating metrics and technology systems for tracking, monitoring and reporting placements to accreditors and senior management.
- Effectively search out job opportunities and externship sites related to training
- Assist graduates of Legacy Education in obtaining employment in their field of study
- Assist unemployed students with part-time employment, while attending school
- Maintain consistent communications with assigned team members via phone, email and virtual meetings with key managers and the Career Services department
- Maintain current contacts with the employers in the local business community
- Develop and implement public relations forums to promote the reputation and services of the school (i.e., job fairs, open houses, guest speakers, graduate job visits, etc.)
- Effectively, meet with new students virtually and in person, as needed regarding Career Services
- Support the objectives of the Professional Development 200 course, by assisting students with employment goals development, interviewing skills and resume writing/preparation.
- Prepare and counsel students on potential employer expectations surrounding realistic working conditions, including tasks and skills needed to be successful on the job.
- Monitor, Collect and maintain complete and current documentation of departmental daily activities (i.e., student records, placement database and placement waivers)
- Support the completion of data required for all regulatory, state and accreditation reports as assigned.
- Collect and maintain placement statistics as required by the Department of Education and accrediting agencies, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Submit a Daily Activity Report (DAR) to the Campus Leader/, executive management and/or their designee.
- Participate and represent Career Services in student orientation
- Conduct weekly and monthly graduate meetings to identify issues or items needed to support Career Services.
- Work in conjunction with Default Management to track students
- Prepare and analyze data/statistics generated by CampusVue, and CareerConext,. This includes data integrity and quality to ensure accurate statistics for Career Services
- Represents the Department and r works closely with recruiters/employers to arrange information sessions, resume collections and interviews.
- Maintain consistent communications with employers on current openings that support placement services for graduates
- Assist and support with training activities for career advisors as needed. This includes preparation of training materials, policy updates and forms as needed.
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Update and maintain Agency Placement report on a weekly and monthly basis for Agency Department Director
- Monitors and supports activities of Career Services Advisors and provides assignments as needed
- Conducts weekly Career Services team meetings
- Conducts team meetings on resume preparation, dress for success and other employment related topics to ensure alignment with PD 200 course.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in computer applications, ability to think on your feet, and ability to handle multiple tasks. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Effective interaction across departmental boundaries must be maintained.

Education and/or Experience:
Director or management experience required in Career Services or Education. Applicants must possess at minimum of five (5) years of professional work experience in employment or Career Services and/or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
