Corporate Controllers: Firmwide Financial Control (FFC) Business Management - Vice President

Business Management optimizes business performances by helping to drive key initiatives. They act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business.

As a Vice President in Firmwide Financial ControlBusiness Management, you will support the Firmwide Financial Control organization. Firmwide Financial Control is primarily focused on ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the Firm's books and records with an emphasis on general ledger, operating systems & infrastructure controls across the entire lifecycle of the business. Some of the most common functions and activities that are owned by Financial Controllers are balance sheet reconciliation / certification, balance sheet substantiation and General Ledger Attestation standards, inter-entity control & governance, manual accounting / bookings to the GL and operating systems and the month end close process & consolidation.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage junior Business Manager(s)
  • Organize complex information in a strategic and compelling way, demonstrating strong data analysis abilities and expertise in Excel and PowerPoint techniques. 
  • Drive governance and communication of all aspects of performance, including at town halls, offsites, and business reviews. 
  • Develop collaborative working relationships across the internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage the client's headcount and expense budgets, and forecasts along with supporting activities related to location strategy and hiring.
  • Track progress against priorities, including midyear and end of year summaries capturing the team's accomplishments.
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives with team members and global managers, looking for ways to continually simplify, improve, and add value to existing business processes.
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests related to presentation development and business analysis. 
  • Support the client's Controls agenda by supporting any of the following initiatives in partnership with the business:
    • Conduct annual review and maintenance of the client's business resiliency plan, provide oversight to the creation and/or maintenance of Inter-Affiliate Service agreements for the client and provide oversight and direction on the Records Management deliverables.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities: 

  • Ability to manage several priorities simultaneously and maintain a flexible approach between detailed analysis and macro indicators
  • Proven experience delivering timely, high-quality presentations and/or reporting for various projects and stakeholders. Attention to detail is a must with continuous focus on design excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels and influence key stakeholders across global locations
  • Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint/PitchPro)
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of independence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to derive, formulate, and produce insightful business communications
  • Process-oriented and results driven with strong organization and critical problem-solving skills
  • Deep execution experience with a demonstrated ability to meet and enforce deadlines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area preferred
  • Previous experience in a Business Management and/or project management function preferred
