Corporate Accountant

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, GL entry, and intermediate exposure to financial reporting. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing valuable insights to ad-hoc projects, when available. The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization and will contribute to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the company's general accounting functions, including but not limited to general ledger entries, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as required. Individual will have the opportunity to assist with preparation of financial statements, if desired.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Corporate Accountant or in a similar role (junior accountant okay).
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Nice to haves:
- Beginner to Intermediate understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting; Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues and stakeholders at various levels.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
