Copyeditor for Legal Marketing Firm

WHO WE ARE

The team at SLS Consulting specializes in digital marketing for attorneys nationwide. From website design and SEO, to content creation and social media marketing, we oversee all aspects of our clients' web presence. We are currently looking for a Copyeditor, ideally with experience working in-house, as a contributing member of a SEO marketing team. We are currently a fully remote company, however, we are looking for applicants in the Los Angeles County area for ease of team-building and time management.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the written word, displays strong attention to detail and the rules of grammar, and has experience writing professional and research-heavy content. The position will require close collaboration with the Writing Coordinator to evaluate new, existing, and externally written content. The position will require working with project management software, Microsoft 365, and an AI writing platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

· Copyedit a variety of content, including web pages, blog articles, and social media posts (research as needed)

· Proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and syntax

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications, though we are willing to consider applicants that do not meet the listed criteria, who feel they would be able to handle the responsibilities of this position without substantial on-the-job-training.

· Strong research and writing skills;

· Extensive working knowledge of rules of grammar, punctuation, and syntax for professional writing;

· Ability to synthesize complex (legal) matters and convey them simply and concisely;

· Ability to work independently;

· Some knowledge of basic HTML and WordPress sites;

· Some knowledge of basic SEO, including Google Analytics;

· Some knowledge of AI produced content;

· Strong professional communication skills; an

· Strong interpersonal skills with a “team player” attitude.

This position is currently part-time (20-25 hrs/wk), however there may be a need to increase to full-time in the future. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
