Title: Copy Editor

Location: Washington DC (1-2 days Onsite)

Clearance: We prefer D.C. Metro area candidates with U.S. Citizenship or Green Card due to public trust clearance requirements.

Role Overview: Areeva Solutions is looking to hire a Copy Editor to be responsible for planning, reviewing, and revising content for publication. This role involves proofreading texts as well as checking for readability, style, and adherence to editorial policies.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan, review, and revise content for publication.

· Proofread text for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.

· Ensure adherence to editorial policies, style, and readability standards.

· Collaborate with writers to enhance text accessibility for readers.

· Develop story and content ideas in alignment with client's style.

· Suggest revisions to improve clarity and accuracy of content.

· Perform quality control checks and approve final versions for submission.

· Conduct research, confirm sources, and verify facts, dates, and statistics.

· Provide input on arranging page layouts for articles, photographs, and advertising.

Qualification:

· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

· Five (5) years of experience in copy-editing.

· Proficient in proofreading for spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

· Strong understanding of editorial policies and writing style.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

· Detail-oriented with a keen eye for clarity and accuracy.

· Familiarity with arranging page layouts is a plus.
