Salary Range: Regionally competitive based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
Summary:
The Coordinator I - CTE is responsible for the development, organization, and direction of the department of CTE and to implement and direct the instructional improvement within the division. The primary function of the Instructional Coordinator is to provide training and supervision to teachers and staff to assure implementation of classroom instructional objectives, lessons, and strategies that are congruent with the needs of students within the Proviso Township High Schools District 209. The Coordinator supports the staff in identifying and/or designing appropriate educational resources, including supports and curriculum aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards and each student's Individualized Educational Plan. ?
Qualifications/Requirements: To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following required education, certification, skills, experience and/or qualifications:
- Master's degree in education.
- Illinois Professional Educator License with an administrative endorsement.
- PERA training qualified for teacher evaluations.
- Previous experience as a Principal or Assistant Principal. High school preferred.
- Recent experience in CTE.
- Create a culture of excellence, professionalism, teamwork and collaboration among the staff, teachers, students, and families.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Perform written and verbal and presentations as necessary.
- Experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision.
- Use of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding CTE.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.

- Limited travel is required.
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
- Stand, walk, crouch, and do moderate lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Use of multimedia equipment and current technology.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Support the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of curriculum
- Lead textbook adoption process
- Collect, organize, and interpret data from standardized testing and local assessments to inform improvement efforts
- Attend Curriculum Council and/or other meetings as directed by the superintendent and/or designee
- Participate in Board of Education meetings related to curriculum and instruction
- Regularly observe classroom practice and coach teachers in effective instruction
- Assist teachers in methodology, technique, materials, or any other function needed to enhance their ability to succeed
- Evaluate faculty within the division per the Evaluation Plan
- Organize and conduct staff development activities.
- Communicate school priorities and action plans to departments and provide implementation support
- Prepare and submit all departmental budgets within the division
- Monitor departmental spending plan
- Oversee inventory of all departmental equipment and supplies
- Coordinate and participate in special programs involving community and other agencies and resources (i.e., open house, parents' night, special workshops and community programs)
- Initiate and encourage publication of division activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent and/or designee
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
