The Human Resources Coordinator (“Coordinator”) plays an important role in supporting the HR Business Partner (“HRBP”) function and works closely with other HR and Talent sub-functions. This position requires a strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practices theory, excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. The Coordinator works closely with the firm’s HRBPs, the Managing Director, HR – US and other members of the Talent organization to ensure efficient HR operations and an excellent client experience.

What You Will Do

  • Provide substantive, organizational, administrative support to the HRBPs and the Managing Director, HR – US including, drafting communications, and presentations as well as the maintenance of HR content on the firm’s intranet (“iNet”).

  • Collaborate with HR Operations (“HROps”) and Global Operations (“GO!”) Team Talent Acquisition (“TA”) to coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for the GO! Team.

  • Notify HRBPs to schedule 30-day check-ins for GO! Team new hires.

  • Manage the GO! Team Exit Survey process and data.

  • Manage the GO! Team Onboarding Buddy Program, including identifying a Buddy for each new hire; soliciting and analyzing participant feedback; and, making recommendations for change as needed.

  • Support the execution of the annual GO! Team, Paralegal, Science Advisor and Secretary Performance Review process. May include project management responsibility.

    • Draft proposed project plan including related communication plan.

    • Track and communicate deadlines to key stakeholders.

    • Update links and resources on the respective Performance Review Process iNet page and organize/file internal iManage folders and documents.

    • Monitor and respond to Performance Review mailbox. Note any themes or trends for future learning and development of the review cycle.

  • Process requests for the AMEX Rewards program in collaboration with HRBPs and Director, Compensation.

  • Respond to general HR questions from partners and employees.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across the GO! Team including Talent, Finance, IT and Operations.

  • May be assigned to work on multi-disciplinary projects/initiatives working with TA, Compensation, HROps, Goodwin Experience, or Learning + Professional Development.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and HR best practices.

  • Specifically in Coordinator’s primary office location, this role may:

    • Support on-boarding of new hires in collaboration with HROps, including conducting on-site orientation meetings, assembling new hire packets, completing I-9 process, and reviewing onboarding tasks in Workday.

    • Support interview/recruitment process by greeting and escorting candidates for in-office interviews.

    • Assist in planning and implementation of office based internal events (e.g., staff appreciation, etc.).

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors/Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related filed (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience working in Human Resources or people function, preferably in a professional services or law firm environment.

  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Suite required. Experience with Visio and PowerPoint a plus.

  • Experience with HR data entry, reporting and analysis required. Experience with Workday a plus.

  • Working knowledge of HR policies, practices, and federal, state and local employment laws in the US.

  • Proven ability to interpret and apply Firm policies and employment laws to specific situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities with input from manager.

  • Consistently exhibits respectful demeanor in a variety of settings and remains calm under pressure.

  • Actively seeks and responds constructively to feedback.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and effective problem solving.

  • Actively builds and maintains effective and respectful relationships internally and externally.
