About the role
Mater Corporate Affairs and Growth is seeking an ambitious Coordinator - Engagement and Events to join its communications, marketing, and engagement team. This is a full-time, maximum term contract for up to 12 months based at Mater Newstead.
Working as part of a team of more than 30 experienced professionals, you will provide an exceptional event management service to Mater and across all Ministries - Mater Foundation, Mater Health, Mater Education and Mater Research.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you'll be doing
- Coordinate and implement event operations and logistics including pre-event planning, onsite delivery and post-event evaluation
- Support all aspects of event delivery to ensure an exceptional attendee experience, working closely with clients and key stakeholders
- Operate to budgets and ensure timelines and agreed KPIs are met
- Coordinate external event suppliers and contractors
- Develop terms and conditions, waivers, site evaluation and service provider contracts in consultation with Mater's compliance teams
- Work with Mater colleagues to identify opportunities for inclusion in sponsorship proposals, and deliver sponsor benefits including event day activations
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Support new initiatives and strive for continuous improvement and effectiveness of events, share knowledge and collaborate with other members of the Corporate Affairs and Growth Team.
- Maintain and promote a flexible and positive approach to change.
- Support the Events Manager to achieve strategic and operational objectives
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- At least three years' event coordination experience, with community events experience desirable.
- Tertiary qualification in event management, communication or marketing and/or relevant experience
- Experience working in a fast pace, high pressure event delivery environment and be able to hit the ground running
- Proven experience planning and delivering all aspects of event operations and logistics and coordinating event staff, volunteers, suppliers and contractors.
- High level written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills and an ability to build relationships with people at all levels
- Knowledge of contemporary and evolving event management trends, including digital event platforms
- High level time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects while successfully manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
