Job Summary:

The incumbent serves as Alcorn State University’s primary contact for Dual Enrollment, advising dual enrolled students and coordinating activities that foster student success in the online classroom. He/She promotes Alcorn State University’s academic programs.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Mississippi Dual Enrollment policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of student success strategies for high school and first year college students
  • Knowledge of the college enrollment process and general education curriculum
  • Knowledge of technology platforms used for teaching and data management (Canvas, Banner, Outlook, etc)
  • Knowledge of FERPA and other federal guidance that inform student rights to privacy and information protection
  • Proficient with email programs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, document imaging systems, or knowledge databases
  • Experience interpreting data from admissions, financial aid, registration, and business office/financial management modules
  • Ability to travel to local school districts as needed and required
  • Abilityto effectively communicate in written and verbal forms
  • Ability to make independent professional judgments with integrity
  • Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems and to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to effectively use email programs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, document imaging systems, or other knowledge databases
Essential Job Functions :

  • Provides administrative coordination and strategic leadership of the University’s Dual Enrollment program to include recruitment, admission, registration, retention, and student success activities for dual enrolled students.
  • Establishes relationships with local school districts to promote the Dual Enrollment program to students and the benefits of Dual Enrollment as a gateway to matriculation at four-year college/university. Conduct presentations to district and school leaders as needed.
  • Provides leadership in course offerings; recommend courses for Dual Enrollment/credit that increase enrollment and retention of dual enrolled students.
  • Assists instructors in the credentialing process; conduct training for Dual Enrollment instructors to ensure knowledge of support resources, university policies, registration, enrollment and final grade processes; provide training and strategies that lead to positive student success outcomes and foster a dynamic online learning environment for dual enrolled students.
  • Evaluates instructors and provide feedback; assists in the coordination of professional development activities.
  • Creates an enrollment management strategy for recruiting, enrolling, and registering dual enrolled students that smoothly and successfully enrolls students at Alcorn State University.
  • Coordinates the administrative functions of the Dual Enrollment program, including preparation of contracts, reviewing midterm and final grades of students, and the preparation of invoices.
  • Reviews and analyzes enrollment trends for dual enrolled students; interpret data regarding Dual Enrollment and strategies for increasing student success. Responsible for establishing, directing, and supporting university Dual Enrollment goals.

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required; masters degree preferred.
