(Contingent upon available funding): 45,000.00 - 58,020.00, Salary Work Schedule: While normal hours are M-F 8-5, there are many hours outside of these including evenings and weekend Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: The coordinator position will support the Oklahoma State University Online and Outreach department by developing and coordinating a comprehensive effective communication plan that provides a prompt, efficient, and thorough system of supporting prospective and current online students designed to increase enrollment yield each year and improve retention of online students to degree matriculation.The coordinator will hire, train, and supervise the team of academic services specialists who provide timely communication regarding OSU’s online degrees and certificates, credit and non-credit courses, and support resources.The coordinator will work with the Vice Provost, Associate Director, and other personnel including academic support partners, faculty, and recruitment staff in multiple departments.The coordinator will research degree and career demands regionally and nationally and utilize student development theory to support the needs of online undergraduate and graduate students helping OSU meet its mission by providing access to higher education to online students.Responsibilities include co-developing and updating undergraduate and graduate communication messages, using OSU databases to manage prospective and enrolled students, provide data analysis to identify online student trends, and apply student development theory to implement student retention initiatives.The coordinator will generate reports about recruitment and retention of online students and will foster conversations and coordinate efforts with academic college faculty and recruitment/support teams. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business, Strategic Communication, or a related field.
One year of related professional work experience in an academic recruitment setting, advising office or student development department, knowledge of OSU Academic Programs, student support services, or advising experience.
Valid driver’s license.
The successful applicant will possess a positive attitude, have excellent people skills, and proven effective written and verbal communication. Demonstrated customer service experience and ability to work effectively as part of a team. The successful applicant should be highly organized, able to coordinate complex projects, and effectively supervise multiple staff. Must learn quickly and adapt to quickly changing priorities. The successful candidate must have excellent computer skills and should be familiar with data management procedures and software. Demonstrated ability and willingness to effectively manage time and resources. Evidence of ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively with faculty, staff and other professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business, Strategic Communication, or a related field.
Five years’ experience in online higher education and student academic support services.
