The position will provide coordination for this hospital based violence intervention program, dedicated to reducing injury, re-injury and mortality rates among youth by providing injured patients their families support, in coordination with B.R.A.G.
Handle and serve as liaison for all internship opportunities for youth community members and high-school students, including but not limited to all DYCD Employment Programs (Summer Youth Employment Work, Learn, Grow), and Youth Peer Fall and Spring Internship.
Coordinate preparation of unit events, such as ordering food for events, reserve space, and send invites. Ensure that paperwork and signoffs are
completed and required follow up promptly.
Facilitate communications and networking amongst service providers to increase efficiency and effectiveness direct services to victims and their
families.
Facilitate communications and networking between BRAG staff and SBH staff to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
Facilitate communications with Emergency Medicine Staff to make sure Stop the Bleed, STAMP, SEMP Programming are meeting grant requirements.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Respond and survey the urgency of calls and visits by patients, other SBH staff, their families and the public at large
Handle all fiscal reporting requirements of the NYC DOH contract including working with Finance to submit invoices and DOHMH to submit data.
Handle all requisitions, check requests and petty cash reimbursements. Keep track of expenditures
Handles all administrative functions:
Keep unit files and records updated and orderly.
Maintain BRAG staff information updated.
Scheduling appointments, staff meetings and external meetings.
Log invoices on spreadsheet and provide monthly reporting on spending via email to SVP.
Coordinate support services i.e. request to IT help desk, engineering and
housekeeping as needed.
Any other assignments as requested by SVP.
Help design, coordinate conduct programs and activities related to violence prevention
Serve as a program liaison and provide customer service and information about violence prevention to perspective patients, clinicians and SBH staff
Analysis data provided by SBH injury prevention of GSW Stabbing victims eligible for services.
Network with the BRAG hospital responders on daily basis to ensure referrals are being transmitted.
Supervise the Career Awareness and Resource Education Seminars (C.A.R.E.S.). Includes presenter outreach, scheduling, attendance, setup of materials and technology, and ordering of food and activities if necessary.
