This program requires students currently pursuing an associate or technical electrical degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the co-op/intern experience. This program is not designed for graduates. Work will be performed at a surface lignite coal mine.
Job Description:
Duties/Tasks:

• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical mining equipment and facilities
• Working with different voltage electrical systems
• Assisting with MSHA electrical inspections on mine equipment
• Operate support equipment
• Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established safety procedures, and stat and federal environmental regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong work ethic with effective communication skills and a creative and innovative attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical controls, and troubleshooting with an understanding of electrical circuit schematics
• Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Valid Driver's License

Educational Requirements:
Enrolled in accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
