Cookie Packer for Growing Bakery

We are seeking a Packing & Shipping superstar to become an integral part of our team here at Nowhere Bakery! You will coordinate the packing of our fresh baked cookies and organize them into the prospective retail and wholesale orders. You will also ship orders out on Mondays and liaise with shipping carriers to get all items out on time.

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:

• Get customer orders ready and pack them up, this takes finesse and attention to detail. Think wrapping a present kind of skills.
• Pack cookies into packaging and seal using sealing machine
• Arrange wholesale orders for customer pick ups
• Sticker and date product
• Troubleshoot problems
• Ensure product meets quality requirements
• Ship out orders with team on Mondays

You must also be able to

• Lift up to 30 pounds
• Push utility carts up to 40 pounds
• Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
• Be able to work in a walk-in cooler for up to 45 minutes at a time
• Use carts, dollies, and other gear to move items around
• Sweep, mop, and wipe off work area (where applicable)
• Adhere to strict safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards
• Work well with numbers, and be a meticulous, methodical person
• Be quick on your feet

What it's like at Nowhere Bakery

• Surroundings. You’ll be working around mobile bakers with sharp items, hot pots, fast paced work flow, at times working under the clock.
• Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, concentrating on certain tasks, stickering or working in a refrigerated cooler.
• Temperature. Even with climate controls, temperatures can vary between 40°F and 80°F in some parts of the kitchen.
• Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We play music to keep as much of a fun environment as possible.
• Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, non-slip closed-toe shoes are required. Hair tied back with a hair net or beard net, wash hands repeatedly as we’re working with food, wear gloves, hair nets, must have great hygiene, no strong perfume or cologne, kitchen black or chef coat.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
