Cook For Child Care Center

When you join our team as a cook, you will:

• Prepare and distribute meals to classrooms
• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
• Dispense and store medication, as requested
• Maintain cleanliness of the children and staff restrooms
• Help with and take on responsibility in other daily center duties, as needed such as stepping into classrooms
• Collaborate with the director in regard to new ideas for the menu

Qualifications:

• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantity of foods for center population
• Familiarity with accurate conditions and food storage, understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance.
• Some units in ECE is a plus!
• Ability to take direction and work as part of a team

Schedule:

• 6 or 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Carmichael, CA 95608: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Salary: $17.25 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
