Cook (Cafeteria Setting)

$1,000.00 total SIGN ON BONUS . This bonus will be made in two installments:

• $500 upon 90 days of employment
• $500 upon 9 months of employment

Family Centered Services of Alaska is searching for a Food Service Cook for our Food Service department located in our Youth Residential Treatment Center in Fairbanks, AK. We are only reviewing applicants who are currently living in the state of AK, in our local area.

Position: Food Service Cook.

Status: Full Time

Schedule shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am-6pm

Pay Range: $17.19 - $20.53. This range is based on experience and education.

Location: At our Youth Residential Treatment Center on 3101 Lathrop Street, Fairbanks, AK 99701

Summary of Assigned Tasks: Under the direct supervision of the Food Services Manager, is responsible to participate in the delivery of food services at the RTC. As such, it may be his/her job to assist in numerous aspects of preparation and/or delivery of food and maintaining a clean environment in the Food Service area. Adheres to principles of service excellence and the philosophy and mission of FCSA in all aspects of job performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Completely familiarize self with Agency mission, regulations and guidelines including those outlined in the personnel manual.

2. Prepare and cook food for the clients, keeping in mind the nutritional needs, food appearance and tasteful quality.

3. Monitor inventory of food and grocery items, keeping Food Services Manager informed of status.

4. Coordinate menu planning and content with the Food Services Manager.

5. Maintain budgetary constraints under the guidance of the Food Services Manager.

6. Accommodate special diets; use diet manual, document on menu and notify Food Service Director.

7. Will provide Food Services Manager with the necessary information to compile accurate food production records of all meals. This will include information related to portion size and variation of recipes/menus.

8. Maintain high level of Joint Commission standards and documenting records of food temperatures before start of service and cooler temperatures. Maintain and monitor all food by labeling and dating with the appropriate measures.

9. Coordinate with the Food Services Manager for purchase of food and supplies.

10. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

11. Provide necessary receipts to the Food Services Manager.

Qualifications:

• High School degree or GED required.
• Business degree or equivalent food service experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 40-50lbs.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
• Two years of Experience in the food Service field is required.
• Active Food Handlers card
• Pass a full Background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background Check Program.
