About the Role
Your Responsibilities
- Incorporate MAFACT/MMSA standards and plant rules as a standard guideline to assist in the development of a conveyance process supporting customer and plant run rates (JPH, Takt Time)
- Develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and assure capability of our material storage and plant material layout requirements.
- Responsible for the development of plant sequencing areas, processes, equipment & training documentation.
- Develop plant material handler headcount standards and assure actual meets business plan requirements.
- Monitor and support development of smooth material flow for production materials to lineside production stations.
- Initiate and assist team members in the development and time study of material handler loops and routes.
- Responsible for the development of periodic material handler work routines to support plant run rate (JPH, Takt Time)
- Conduct Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (PFMEA) and design into each material process provisions which prevent the potential for manufacturing problems.
- Plan and direct activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers; analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling and safety requirements, and type of materials required for container, according to Packaging and Shipping Guidelines
Your preferred qualifications
Education: Industrial engineering Degree/Diploma or other educational equivalent.
Experience: 2-5 years prior experience, preferably in the areas of high-volume automotive assembly and sequencing. .
Familiar with Lean manufacturing concepts (Kanban, One-Piece-Flow, Kaizen, Theory of Constraints, 5S, etc…)
Experience with SAP ERP system.
Experienced in an automotive TS/IATF environment.
Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Project/Visio, AutoCAD
Proven project and time management ability.
Self-motivated individual, able to work with minimal supervision.
Fluent and confident communicator with all levels of the organization
Experience working in a unionized environment.
