Kadant Johnson is seeking a growth-oriented, project-driven Controls Engineer to join its Steam Systems and Services group.
This position is responsible for leading projects with control systems and managing the scope, schedule, and budget of those projects. The Controls Engineer is also responsible for electrical hardware design, PLC programming, HMI programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems using Kadant Johnson’s Dryer Management System® technology.
Responsibilities
The preferred candidate is experienced in leading cross-functional teams consisting of product and project managers, engineers, piping contractors and installation crews. They will be able to execute projects through effective communications with diverse individuals and groups. A strong analytical and creative nature is needed for the design and troubleshooting of equipment, reporting of results, and construction of data acquisition and control software.
Qualifications
Specific position requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience displaying electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with PLC programming in Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and ControlLogix platforms
- Knowledge of and experience with steam and condensate systems with a focus in project management and process control systems is preferred
- Travel up to 50%
