POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a driven and proactive Finance Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possessing exceptional intuition, strong time management skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for directing and analyzing the financial activities of JL Clark. Supervises accounting, financial analysis, budgets, accounts payable long range planning, and financial reporting. Has involvement in cost analysis, credit, and management information systems. Demonstrates leadership and creativity in all areas of responsibility and is actively involved in the professional development of the accounting staff. Identifies important trends in the business and opportunities for profit improvement. Leads the development and implementation of financial management tools and action plans to make the company a stronger competitor. Ensures a high level of effectiveness in the financial planning and control of the company.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting with at least two- five years financial experience in manufacturing and a high level of computer literacy.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting with three or more years financial experience in manufacturing and a high level of computer literacy. CMA designation is a plus.
- Previous experience using Infor and Syteline systems. Strong ERP / Accounting information systems background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes financial results and prepares financial plans.
2. Performs hands-on monthly closing to generate financial statements and associated reporting, including full general ledger responsibility.
3. Is responsible for the preparation of monthly forecasts.
4. Assures protection of assets through internal control procedures.
5. Supervises Accounts Payable. Monitors cash disbursements.
6. Assists Sales & Marketing department in establishing and maintaining pricing policies.
7. Has involvement in product cost and analysis of capital expenditures proposals
8. Analyzes planned cost savings.
9. Performs monthly analysis of unit costs, margins, and goals. Analyzes discounts and prices.
10. Performs trend analysis of manufacturing, management, and selling costs.
11. Oversees preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and strategic plans.
12. Readies reports that outline company's financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and future operations.
13. Prepares governmental reports as needed.
14. Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.
15. Assists with the annual budgeting process.
16. Is responsible for the annual external audit, including preparation of audit work papers and coordination with the audit team. Arranges for audits of company's accounts and collaborates with external auditors.
17. Accountable for inventory control and shop floor reporting, including cycle counts.
18. 16. Performs other ad hoc financials analysis as required by corporate finance.
