Controller

Controller needed for a fast-growing family owned business in Gonzales, LA. We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-paced environment and that can wear many hats at one time. This position handles all bookkeeping-Including, but not limited to, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, oversees payroll, etc. We are looking for a long-term employee that wants to be part of our fast-growing team. We have been in business for 34 years!

Responsibilities

• Document, monitor and update accounting policies
• Ensure all payments are completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits)
• Analyze costs and assist in maximizing profits
• Report on financial status on a regular basis and create reports when needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems
• Perform internal audits and assist with external audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
• Supervisory experience
• Ability to supervise a team of 4 to 6 employees
• carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policy
• Interview, hire, and train employees
• Human resources experience
• Sales Tax experience
• ability to process sales tax for multiple states
• ability to complete full month end close process
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Skills

• Organized
• Work experience as a Controller or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Experience with cash management and risk assessment
• Good knowledge of Quickbooks
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
