CONTROLLER

Our firm has partnered with a subsidiary of a fast-growing commercial services company to assist in their search for a Controller to join their management team and help take their company to the next level. The person hired will build out the financial & administrative operations of the company. They will report directly to the company president and will be responsible for driving results, minimizing costs, and providing financial direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Function as top accounting/finance management team member of a <$15M million subsidiary of a large PE backed commercial services company
Oversee the general accounting function, including supervision of accounting team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, Payroll, and Treasury)
Manage entire close process including review of JEs, accruals, reserves, reconciliations, and reporting of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Develop & manage the quarterly forecast and annual budget process
Provide financial guidance and expertise to increase company growth and profitability
Prepare cash forecasts to ensure proper cash management
Present complete and accurate reports to business leaders with follow up and corresponding supporting detail according to specific deadlines
Develop key metrics, dashboards, KPIs, etc.
Prepare reports, analyses, and insights needed for management decision making
Ad hoc reporting and development of various analyses
Proactively seek process improvement opportunities and implement change
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Business with concentration in Accounting, Finance or Economics (18+ hours of accounting)
CPA, CMA or advanced degree a plus
Minimum 6+ years of relevant accounting and financial experience, including two years of progressive supervisory experience with ability to build & lead a growing team.
Must be able to handle company growth and take on higher-level responsibilities
Public accounting audit experience a plus
Strong technical GAAP acumen
Solid experience managing close process, general ledger, and financial reporting
Experience developing budgets and forecasts
Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel proficiency required)
Strong system skills including ERP systems
Ability to communicate financial information effectively
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with positive, service-minded attitude
