This position will be responsible for the processing of controlled drugs for distribution as well as, tracking and retrieving signed Schedule II Controlled Substance prescriptions from physicians.
- Responsible for initial contact and follow up calls to LTC facilities and physician offices as related to required signatures on CII prescriptions orders.
- Responsible for following up on all confirmation of receipts regarding all CII prescriptions.
- As required by law, responsible for facilitating the signing of CII prescriptions by physicians prior to dispensing.
- Responsible for maintaining, utilizing and implementing tracking spreadsheets and databases as related to CII prescriptions and processes.
- Responsible for all CII document conversion from spreadsheet formats to company computer.
- Responsible for receiving signed CII prescriptions from fax machine, Docutrack and postal services.
- Responsible for ensuring CII prescriptions received have been identified, inputted and tracked in system.
- Responsible for ensuring CII prescriptions received are attached to POS, filed and maintained.
- As per law, ensures all hard copies are appropriately filed and maintained.
- Actively contributes to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies and procedures.
- Enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practices.
- Generates weekly statistical reports and project status reports.
- Communicates significant outstanding prescriptions or problems to manger in timely manner with supporting documentation.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participates in special projects to identify and implement operational improvements.
- Ability to effectively communicate with medical professionals and work with others in a positive productive manner.
- Anticipates and responds to the position responsibilities in a proactive and timely manner.

- Assists with ensuring safety policy and procedures are practiced and adhered.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- National or State Pharmacy Certification
- Must be very familiar with control substance medication names.
- Basic computer knowledge skills required
- Extensive knowledge and comprehension of pharmacy terminology
- Math, and analytical skills
- One to three years of experience working in a LTC Pharmacy or medical environment preferred.
