Description
We are seeking a government and commercial Contracts Administrator to join our operations team. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day business operations of a mid-size IT consulting firm. Leading Path has been in business for 13 years, providing technology and operations solutions to Fortune 500 companies as well as a variety of government agencies, with employee presence across the US.
In this role, you will perform contract management duties while helping to continuously improve business operations. You’ll report directly to the COO and consult with senior company leadership to create solutions for business inefficiencies or solve day-to-day business issues.
You’ll join recruiting and accounting as a member of the operations team and have the flexibility to support additional business processes beyond Contracts.
The Contracts Administrator will support contracts and related business processes throughout all stages of the contract lifecycle. The right candidate will be able to work independently and function effectively as part of a team and interact with people from junior to executive levels. This individual should have experience meeting deadlines and prioritizing time-sensitive tasks.
Primary Job Functions:
· Contract Management: Efficiently manage the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to execution and renewal.
· Contract Review: Thoroughly review contractual documents and proposals to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications, and conformance to master agreements.
· Requests for Proposal: Coordinate internal teams for completion and submission of RFQ/RFP opportunities. Communicate any contractual concerns in the proposal and provide recommendations for revisions.
· Negotiation: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties to negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions that align with organizational goals and objectives, and review subsequent contractual documents for legal sufficiency prior to execution.
· Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with contract terms, regulatory requirements, and company policies throughout the duration of contracts.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, including amendments, addendums, and correspondence.
· Communication: Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for internal and external contract-related inquiries. Advise on contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of contract terms and conditions.
· Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address contract-related issues, discrepancies, and disputes in a timely manner to mitigate risks and ensure contractual obligations are met.
· Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and promote mutual understanding.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and legal developments related to contract management, and implement process enhancements as needed.
· Participates in special projects as required.
Industry Knowledge:
· Experience supporting federal and commercial agencies (as both Prime Contractor and Subcontractor) in contract administration, including pre-proposal efforts, RFP or RFQ support, proposal support and submission, and contract execution.
· IC and DoD experience desired.
Requirements
Required Skills:
3+ years of relative experience
· Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or other related field from an accredited US institution
· Proficiency in contract management software such as Jira and Confluence and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Comfort with use of modern technologies
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpret complex contract documents.
· Clear communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation principles, and contract management best practices.
· Flexibility and willingness to work across functions within business operations and contribute to a team.
