Job Description
Reports to: Engineering Manager at the Corporate Office and to the Project Managers while on site
Schedule: Based upon project requirements (Typical - 6 days per week, up to 12 hours per day)
Initial Project Assignment:
Location: Candidates must be willing to travel and be based in Fairbanks, Alaska for the duration of the project (relocation not required)
Schedule: Rotational (28 days on / 14 days off)
Job Summary:
The CQCSM will be responsible for overall management of the on-site Quality Control System and support the project team in Quality Control matters.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide Field Engineers with task lists and follow up on actions.
Responsibilities of this Position:
- Ensures conformance with project plans and specifications through the implementation, and enforcement, of the approved Quality Control Plan, and specifications, for the project site.
- Assists in preparing the Contractor QC Plan, subsequent addendums, and other work plans, as necessary.
- Performing on-site QC inspections of materials, equipment, and work to verify compliance with approved work plans, contracts, plans and specifications, and permits and other regulatory requirements through the implementation of the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) 3-Phase Inspection Process.
- Ability to implement Stop-Work authority to immediately implement changes to correct deficiencies discovered as a result of above inspections or observations.
- Tracking of deficiencies and tracking/coordination of necessary corrective actions throughout the course of the project.
- Review, approval and tracking of all submittals and transmittals in the Resident Management System/Quality Control Systems (RMS/QCS) software.
- Developing daily/weekly QC reports, with all necessary supporting documentation.
- Record keeping for all site quality-related documents including submittals, transmittals, testing forms, inspection checklists, reports, field sampling checklists and data submissions, etc.
- Support project close-out and as-built documentation.
- Other ad-hoc quality support tasks, as required by the project or assigned by the Project Manager/Management.
- A willingness to travel to gain experience on various jobsites with different techniques, different people, and different geologic environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and preferably with scheduling software.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates specializing in geotechnical, structural, or construction areas with project and/or office experience.
- Five (5) years experience geotechnical/foundations projects preferably on cutoff wall or soil mixing technologies.
- CQCSM certificate issued by USACE is strongly preferred.
