Job description

Southworth Products, located in Falmouth, Maine, has an immediate contract/ temporary position for a Recruiter. This role is a 30-40 hour per week position with an estimated timeline of three months.

Southworth is the world’s largest manufacturer of ergonomic material handling equipment for vertical lifting and work positioning. Our products are designed to improve worker productivity while reducing the potential for injuries.

Anywhere that workers are lifting and positioning items, handling pallets, working with parts in containers or transporting loads in a factory or warehouse, Southworth has a product to make the job faster, safer, and easier.

Our ideal candidate is a strong Recruiter with a background in hiring for commercial-related positions in field sales, sales leadership, and sales enablement positions. Ideally this Recruiter has worked in multiple industries, including manufacturing, and is able to quickly understand business operations and effectively convey the needs of the role, how that role fits into the larger team, and can effectively assess talent against qualifications and fit. The growth of the company is heavily reliant on the placement of the right talent in our Commercial Organization, so a sense of urgency is a must.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple requisitions simultaneously with drive, follow-through, and creativity. The emphasis of open roles will be primarily commercial, but this Recruiter may be asked to support other roles as needed.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, including proactive outreach to source passive talent.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate posting descriptions, hiring criteria, and hiring process.
  • Screens applications and conducts phone screens to identify qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees the preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff.

Qualifications – Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience with a background in hiring commercial positions such as sales, sales leaders, and other commercially related positions, as well as a wide variety of professional positions.
  • Experience crafting behavioral event interview questions and leveraging the STAR interview model to ensure a thorough screening process.
  • Effective communication and coaching skills to consult with hiring leaders effectively.
  • Sense of urgency to effectively evaluate candidates in a timely manner.
