We are a nonprofit seeking talented individuals to join our mission. Our goal is to strengthen children and their families with coping skills, emotional support, and to promote healthy living habits to build successful lives. Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) is a Colorado 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 in Colorado Springs.
Duties
Our Child and Family Therapist are part of our Behavioral Health team and provide counselling services employing behavioral health strategies serving families, individuals, and youth involved in the DHS system and self-referred clients.
Population We Serve
· Children currently living in an out of home placement with the goal of returning home to their families.
· Parents working towards the return of their children needing support and parenting skills development to better care for and meet the needs of their children.
· Individuals, families and children seeking outpatient counselling services.
Work Environment
· Counselling services to be provided onsite at our administrative offices or via tele-video.
· Documentation can be completed remotely in our EHR and must be completed within 24 hours of each session.
· Flexible schedule.
· Contractor determines own availability and schedule.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong crisis management skills
· Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
· Experience using various treatment modalities appropriate for specified population, utilizing strength-based therapeutic approaches (preferred).
- Experience working therapeutically with specified population (preferred).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in counselling, social work, or related behavioral health field (M.A., M.S., MSW, MFT).
- Fully Licensed/Candidates and Interns are welcomed to apply. Supervision towards licensure available for LPC/MFT.
