Description:
We're looking for a detail-oriented, entry-level Contract Attorney (Temp) to join our team who is excited about our passionate user base and is interested in joining a dedicated cross-functional team that engages with our customers and vendors.As our Contract Attorney, your mission will be to support our Legal team in reviewing various contracts like NDAs, SaaS agreements, and Professional Services Agreements, in addition to reviewing and maintaining company records such as state/federal registrations and corporate governance documents. You'll be a great fit for this role if you have basic knowledge of drafting and reviewing commercial contracts
This temporary position offers the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role based on performance and company needs.
What You'll Do:
- First round review contract drafting, review, and negotiations
- Develop an understanding of Muck Rack's internal processes and procedures, products, and services to develop contract templates and ensure contract compliance
- Maintain an understanding of Muck Rack's contract templates, contracts policy, legal risk and liability, and company position on multiple matters
- Assist Associate Counsel with management of contract templates, contract change control process, and related correspondence requiring legal input
- Collaborate with internal departments for the entire contract lifecycle ensuring timely review, approval, negotiation, contract close-out, extensions, renewals, or variations of agreements

- Ability to negotiate with customers and adhere to company terms
- Work cross-functionally with various teams
- Work collaboratively to provide recommendations to resolve to complex contract/company related questions
- At least 1 year of experience in contract review, drafting, and negotiations(In house preferred not required)
- JD from an accredited law school and admission to a State Bar
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, work efficiently under pressure, seek appropriate supervisory input where needed, and consistently meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills (both verbally and written)
- Demonstrated success building relationships and working across functional lines (sales, legal, operations, service, implementation, etc.) to achieve results
- Strong organizational skills and ability to be flexible and self-directed in a fast-paced environment as well as under the supervision of Associate Counsel
- Strong ethics, integrity, and values including ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to agreement contents and other highly sensitive business matters and projects required
